This summer, the tradition continues with Evening Singing at Vippefyret—an atmospheric half-hour of communal singing under the open sky at one of Skagen's most iconic locations. Opera singer Jens-Christian Wandt initiates this event, bringing together locals and summer visitors to celebrate the Danish song heritage in an informal and intimate setting. The event is free, requires no registration, and everyone is warmly welcome. Song sheets are distributed on site. Evening Singing at Vippefyret has become a fixed summer tradition in Skagen, where people of all ages gather with views over the sea and the bright summer evening. Over the years, the communal singing has attracted hundreds of participants, creating a unique atmosphere of presence and togetherness. The initiative arose in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, highlighting the need for community and connection. Communal singing proved to be a simple yet powerful way to foster unity, hope, and joy—and since then, the event has become a recurring part of Skagen's summer. The concept is simple: no instruments, no microphones—just voices, presence, and community. *Con amore*. From heart to heart. In love with Skagen, the Danish summer, and the joy of singing together outdoors. A selection of beloved Danish summer and communal songs are sung, with Jens-Christian Wandt leading and introducing each song with a brief story or anecdote about the song or its history. After the singing, attendees can continue the pleasant atmosphere with ice cream, coffee, cake, and cold or hot drinks at the Ice Café by the water tower. Any changes or cancellations due to weather will be posted on the event's Facebook page. Everyone is warmly invited to a memorable experience of communal singing by the sea.
