BASbio in Brønderslev is screening "The Odyssey" in week 35, with showings on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday at 7:00 PM. The film tells the story of King Odysseus, who left 20 years ago to fight in the Trojan War. His cunning secured the Greek victory and the fall of the once proud city of Troy. Unlike other kings who returned home, Odysseus was forced by fate to wander far beyond the known world — to the gates of the underworld, the Cyclops' island, past Scylla and Charybdis, held captive by the sorceress Circe, and later with the nymph Calypso in the far west. Throughout these years, Queen Penelope has faithfully awaited his return, while suitors press her to choose a new husband and king of Ithaca. Their son Telemachus sets out in a desperate attempt to find news of his missing father, but time is running out. Directed by Christopher Nolan, this film is a Hollywood action adaptation of Homer's Odyssey and the first ever shot entirely in IMAX format. Scenes from the destruction of Troy to confrontations with the Cyclops and Penelope's suitors were filmed on stunning locations worldwide, starring Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, and Tom Holland among a star-studded cast.
