If Walls Could Talk - The Wealthy Fisherman

ons. 19. aug. 2026 kl. 13:00-13:30 Kystmuseet Skagen

In the 1830s, the Wealthy Fisherman's House was built in Skagen Østerby. Its residents were not a traditional nuclear family but rather a patchwork family. This family is woven together across biological ties through loss, chance, and personal choices, with the matriarch Maren Sophie Jensdatter as the central thread. At August's Story of the Month, you can hear the full story of the family in the Wealthy Fisherman's House and learn how families have always been more diverse than the ideal of the classic nuclear family suggests.
