Indigo and Sashiko - Additional Workshop
lør. 22. aug. 2026 kl. 10:00-15:00 Tversted Skole, Skolevej 13, Tversted
Learn to dye with indigo and sew sashiko in a two-day workshop combining Japanese embroidery with natural indigo dyeing.
This workshop brings together two ancient crafts: indigo dyeing and sashiko sewing. Indigo is a natural blue dye that has been used for textiles for millennia, while sashiko is a Japanese embroidery technique traditionally used to repair and reinforce clothing with decorative patterns. On the first day, you will learn to dye fabric and threads using various indigo techniques and natural mineral dyes. The second day focuses on sashiko sewing, where you stitch patterns following a grid and assemble fabrics into a beautiful, durable result.
