Concert - Christmas with Den Gamle Sangskat
As Christmas approaches, the popular trio Den Gamle Sangskat will perform at BASaren. With many years of collaboration, they explore classics across time and place, from Danish songs like “Glemmer Du” and “Dansevise” to the American “Mister Sandman” in their own Danish translation. Sara Grabow (vocals, ukulele), Eva Skipper (bass, backing vocals), and Martine Madsen (guitar, backing vocals) have refined their harmony and Nordic arrangements over the years.
As Christmas draws near, the beloved trio Den Gamle Sangskat will bring their music to BASaren. Having played together for many years, they explore classics spanning different eras and origins—from Danish songs such as “Glemmer Du” and “Dansevise” to the American classic “Mister Sandman,” performed in their own Danish translation. The trio, consisting of Sara Grabow (vocals, ukulele), Eva Skipper (bass, backing vocals), and Martine Madsen (guitar, backing vocals), have honed their interplay with a special focus on three-part harmonies and beautiful Nordic arrangements. Their repertoire is hoped to match the falling Christmas snow, with bells and voices ringing. Songs include “Jeg så julemanden kysse mor,” “Hvid Jul,” and “Der er ingenting i verden så stille som sne” from their upcoming album “I julelysets og hjerternes tegn,” a tribute to traditions renewed. There may also be room for some original compositions by Den Gamle Sangskat. Tickets are available at www.basbio.dk, with doors opening half an hour before the concert. Price: DKK 250.
